2023 Call for Nominations

GSOLE is currently accepting nominations for our upcoming election. GSOLE leadership is enhanced by a variety of perspectives and welcomes nominations from any OLI professional, especially applicants with diverse backgrounds and life experiences holding any rank or status, including contingent faculty, graduate students, staff, and/or tutors. We aspire for our leadership to reflect the diverse professionals who labor to sustain online literacy education across higher education and K-12 contexts. Please send nominations, including self-nominations, to secretary@gsole.org by May 5, 2023.

The GSOLE Nominating Committee is seeking candidates for Treasurer and three Executive Board At-Large Members. More information about each position can be found below:

Treasurer (1 opening for 3-year term)

• Maintain bank accounts and secure electronic records of GSOLE’s financial transactions
• Prepare finance reports for Executive Board meetings, the GSOLE Annual Report, and for any official reporting requirements demanded by affiliates or governmental agencies
• Attend Executive Board meetings to offer input and vote on initiatives and actions (meetings are held once a month year round)
• Serve on ad-hoc or standing committees to offer support and input

Executive Board At-Large Member (3 openings for 2-year terms)

• Attend Executive Board meetings to offer input and vote on initiatives and actions (meetings are held once a month year round)
• Serve on ad-hoc or standing committees to offer support and input  

Materials and Election Process

Upon confirming their candidacy, all nominees will be asked to submit the following materials, which will be shared with the GSOLE voting membership during the election:

• a short CV (2 to 4 pages)

• a brief, 250-word statement of interest/intent for the position for which you are nominated and past experience with GSOLE and/or online literacy education. Sample statements from previous candidates are available for your review.

• A brief statement about your work with and commitment to diversity and equity. GSOLE is an organization that is dedicated to diversity, equity, inclusivity, and access in online literacy education and affirms inclusion and access as core components of any online literacy pedagogy.
