GSOLE Communication Officer

The GSOLE Steering Committee is looking for a current or new member to serve as our Communication Officer. This is a two-year appointment that can be renewed with approval of the Executive Board. No experience in organizational admin or communication is required. The position entails about 10 hours of monthly volunteer contributions, including regularly monitoring and posting to GSOLE’s social media accounts, one or more online meetings, and focused project work—possibly more depending upon the applicant’s interests, experience, and availability. The duties of this position may be split between two members, and pairs of individuals who want to work together may apply to together.

How You Can Help GSOLE in this Role

(Position Responsibilities)

  • Maintain and occasionally report on social media activity on GSOLE’s accounts.
  • Compose and coordinate communications to promote GSOLE’s programs, events, and activities, posting them to social media and the GSOLE blog (facilitated by Wild Apricot hosting platform).
  • Support the Steering Committee and Membership officer in communicating directly with the membership (partly facilitated by the Wild Apricot organizational hosting platform).
  • Develop and organize communication resources, including message templates, branding assets, and communication plans.
  • Attend Executive Board meetings (Ex Officio) and support Steering Committee communications
  • Participate on the Outreach Committee and Collaborate with other GSOLE committees and officers to support their communication needs.
