GSOLE IDEA Fund

The GSOLE Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Fund is a financial resource dedicated to advancing the organization’s commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access. The sources of funding include donations from members and non-members and a required annual allocation from the organization based on total member dues for the previous year. Disbursements of the fund will be determined by GSOLE’s IDEA Committee, either in response to specific requests from other GSOLE committees and officers or to support program development by the IDEA committee itself.

About the Fund

Here are more specific details for the fund’s administration:

All donations requested to be targeted for GSOLE’s IDEA Fund must be immediately allocated to the fund, which is reserved only for the purposes of supporting IDEA initiatives in GSOLE.
At the start of each fiscal year, an amount equal to 10% of the previous year’s member dues shall immediately be reallocated to GSOLE’s IDEA Fund, and those funds may never be returned to GSOLE’s central operational fund.
GSOLE committees and officers may present requests to the IDEA committee for disbursements from the fund to improve diversity, equity, and access within a particular program or with respect to GSOLE’s membership or leadership.
GSOLE’s IDEA Committee cannot approve disbursements beyond the total currently held in the fund less all previously approved, but not-yet-paid, disbursements.
GSOLE’s IDEA Committee is encouraged to disburse at least 90% of the opening annual balance of the fund by the end of the fiscal year, but may disburse more if additional donations to the fund occur during the same fiscal year.
