I'm noticing lots of discussion about tech tools in digitally-mediated environments -- number of tools, types of tools, issues of access and inclusivity for ESL students. This is an important concern that I don't think we talk enough about.

I feel like I've gotten so much already (and it's only halfway through the day). I really appreciate the terminology Scott introduced in the first plenary session. We know language and naming are really powerful, and I think these terms give us a new way to have some say over how OLI grows. I look forward to taking these ideas and terms back to my department and larger institution to talk about the implications.

Takeaway #1 - my GSOLE family is awesome, though that is not really "new" information.

Takeaway #2 - thinking about ways to accomplish more "learning objective"-wise while having students do - or "manage" - less, especially in remote synchronous teaching.

I'm enjoying my first GSOLE conference! I think one big takeaway for me is that continuous metadiscourse in an online course is soo important, e.g., "Here's why we're doing this..."
